Mean girls - Opening scene
Here I have looked at the opening of films that are not thriller to see the difference between the openings. In this clip a few of the titles start at the very beginning just after the ident the titles include the film title 'Mean Girls' which is in a white and pink girly font the film company, producers and some of the actresses. The titles then faded out and the film then fades in but the titles still run through the clip. The titles are in bright fun colours with each of the names appearing in different colours and in different place of the screen the names seem to also appear when the characters face is on the screen during the first scene so that the viewer knows who that person is. The film is in the background whilst the titles are on the screen as well as music playing in the background the music is girly, fun and modern unlike thrillers where the music more dark and is there to create suspenses. This film opening is different to an opening to a thriller because of the font that is used as in this clip the font is girly and bold and in bright colours whereas in thrillers the colours are more plain unless the use of red which is the colour of blood. Another difference is the music as the music in this clip is fun, girly and modern whereas in thrillers the music typically seems to much more darker, less modern and is also there to add suspense to the scene.
